For the last time, I swear. It's been a long time since I cruised through a craving, and WOW is it a rush! My body is warm, hands are shaking, and there's not enough coffee in this building to sate my thirst.

I cannot wait for lunch! I'm gonna have 4 or 5 double cheeseburgers.

I keep trying to quit, I did for 3 months then I went camping with some friends and bought a pack. I don't smoke at work any more but damn a cigarette on the drive home is good. I smoked my last of the pack today, hopefully I'll make it home without buying a pack.

Just keep at it, brother! I smoked an entire pack yesterday over the course of 6 hours. I felt so incredibly sick! I honestly tried to have a smoke this morning but just the thought of one - let alone the smell - made me puke just a little on the front lawn.

I wish you luck. Nicotine is a helluva drug. It took me years to quit. I have not smoked in years.

I'm already feeling the effects. My tics are coming back. My internal filter is not working. I'm nervous for no reason but hey that's what I get for smoking the shit for years. I'll pay the price

When I quit smoking it was because I was ready. Didn't want to do it anymore. Stuck in a 6 hour traffic jam, chain smoking and then came to the realization it was just horrible and I havn't looked back.

Quitting smoking is a good idea generally, but sometimes it's nice to have that little something. On vacation, on the way home from work, after dinner, after a job well done. A pack a week instead of a pack or two a day. Works for some people.

If I can hit the 6-month no tobacco mark, I'm going to reward myself with either:

A humidor filled with my favorites or

A nice new pipe and some choice tobacco

For those times when that little something is a nice thing to have.

Sounds like you have a good plan. We all need a vice or two....

I found it a lot easier to quit than anyone else I know, so I had it easy. My previous failed attempts were more from a lack of motivation than the adverse physical/mental effects.

Little over 9 months here, granted I only did for a few years.

never smoked, but replacing it with electronic cigarettes worked for my girl. you're not replacing the nicotine, but at least you're reducing the tar and other chemicals. if you can't stop, it's something to consider.

Keep at it, I quit back in December of '09 after purchasing my Cobalt SS/TC. Decided I didn't want the car to smell like smoke and suffer the occasional burns like the previous car did. Costco sized bags of Jolly Ranchers kept me sated. Now I can't even stand the smell.
